Who we are
Proton International London is part of the Proton International network — a globally recognised provider of proton beam therapy centres based in the United States. With decades of experience in delivering advanced proton therapy, Proton International has played a leading role in expanding access to this highly precise form of cancer treatment across the world.
Our shared vision is simple: to make proton beam therapy more accessible and to do so with compassion, integrity, and clinical excellence.
We are proud to work in partnership with University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) — one of the UK’s largest and most respected NHS Trusts. Together, we provide access to one of just two NHS proton beam therapy centres in the country, and the only private proton beam therapy service in the UK.
Our commitment to you
At Proton International London, we see people, not just diagnoses. We understand that your circumstances and needs are unique, and we take the time to listen and tailor your care around what matters most to you. From our first conversation to your final follow-up appointment, we’re here to ensure you and your family feel informed, supported, and confident.
We pride ourselves on combining clinical excellence with care and compassion. Our care teams are here to make sure you never feel rushed, overlooked, or uncertain. We’re here to answer your questions clearly, talk you through your options, and support you in making decisions that are right for you.
Our London centre
Located within the University College Hospital Grafton Way Building, our centre is the only private proton beam therapy centre in the country. Special attention has been given to the environment to make it a calm and welcoming space for you and your family.
Our facility includes:
- Four Varian ProBeam™ gantries: These advanced treatment systems deliver proton beam therapy with exceptional accuracy, allowing consultants to precisely target tumours while helping to protect surrounding healthy tissue.
- Advanced imaging and planning suites: CT and MRI scanners to help our clinical teams plan out your treatment plan with precision. This ensures the proton beam is directed exactly where it’s needed — improving treatment effectiveness while minimising side effects.
- Dedicated anaesthetics suite: Some patients, particularly children, may require general anaesthesia during treatment to ensure they remain still and comfortable. Our on-site anaesthetics suite is fully equipped and staffed by experienced and caring clinicians.
- Comfortable and calm waiting areas: Our spacious waiting areas have been thoughtfully designed to feel soothing and non-clinical. Art installations and thoughtful design elements have been incorporated to create a calm space that supports recovery and well-being.
