I am a Consultant Clinical Oncologist and the Clinical Lead for Radiotherapy at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College London. I also hold honorary Senior Lecturer positions at both King’s College London and the University of Surrey. My areas of expertise include:
Head & Neck Cancer
Non-melanomatous Skin Cancer
Prostate Cancer
Previously, I have held senior Consultant Clinical Oncologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer roles at Royal Surrey County NHS Trust, Basingstoke and North Hampshire NHS Foundation Trust, and the University of Surrey. I was also a Senior Research Fellow at University College London and a Clinical Cancer Research Fellow at the Institute of Cancer Research and The Royal Marsden Hospital.
I completed my oncology training at The Royal Marsden, Royal Surrey County, and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals. I obtained my PhD from the University of London in 2008.
I am currently the joint Module Leader for the Respiratory, Head and Neck module within the MSc in Oncology programme at the Institute of Cancer Research. I deliver weekly oncology seminars at St Luke’s Cancer Centre for doctors, nurses, radiographers, and physicists, and I also lecture monthly at the postgraduate Medical School at the University of Surrey. I regularly act as a PhD and MD examiner.
My research has focused on the technical and biological aspects of intensity-modulated radiotherapy, conducted at the Institute of Cancer Research and The Royal Marsden. I have a particular interest in using novel radiation techniques to minimise long-term side effects, and in integrating chemotherapy and targeted therapies to improve outcomes. My work has been widely published, and I have presented at conferences around the world.
